Write a Letter to Santa Canuck
Every child loves sending a letter to Santa—but this year, we’re inviting them to send one to Santa Canuck, the jolly, maple-loving hero of our picture book Santa Canuck!
In true Canadian spirit, Santa Canuck swaps reindeer for moose, snow for snowshoes, and cocoa for a hot double-double. But the heart of his story stays the same: kindness, gratitude, and the joy of giving.
So how do you write the perfect letter to Santa Canuck?
We’ve made it easy with our Official Letter to Santa Canuck template!
Just print it out, grab your favourite crayons or pencils, and start writing.
- Have your child Introduce themselves using the fill in the blanks for name and age, so Santa Canuck knows exactly who’s writing to him.
- Have them check the “nice” or “naughty” box. (Don’t worry—Santa Canuck knows nobody’s perfect! This is a great time to encourage some conversation or reflection about the past year)
- Maybe they helped shovel the driveway, shared their snacks, or were kind to the new kid in school. Santa Canuck loves hearing all about it.
- Have them write down their Christmas wishes.
- Big or small, practical or magical — Santa Canuck reads every single one.
- Add some festive flair.
- Kids can decorate their letter with stickers, doodles, or even a drawing of a moose in a Santa hat—the more personality, the better!
- Once the letter is ready, scan or take a picture and send it off to santacanuck@brownpaperfox.com.
- Wait for Santa Canuck’s reply (via email).
- Display your copy of your child’s letter proudly on the fridge, classroom wall, or share a photo on socials using #SantaCanuckLetters.
Whether they’ve been nice, a little bit naughty, or somewhere in between (we won’t tell!), Santa Canuck wants to hear from them. He’s reading letters and checking lists before packing up the truck and getting ready for his big Canadian journey across the Great White North.
